So who am I? This is where I rant and rave about how
weird I am so you can associate a personality with the
writing involved through the entire website. I have
traditionally gone with the table format and just
laid out all my "411 stats" but for UI6 (my 'development
name' for this homepage incarnation) I will opt for
some more "personal" writing.
This is Vic.
So, who am I? Your semi-atypical Canadian-born
Chinese university student in a computer engineering
program. You've seen them around -- the short, thin
guy with glasses, cleanly-dressed, brown eyes, black
hair with a part down the middle. I speak perfect
english (as perfect as one who has been raised in
Canada for all his 20+ years) and I would like to
think I have some mastery of proper english mechanics
and prose. Over time I have lost a lot of my Chinese
heritage and "abilities" including the art of proper
pronounciation and comprehension. Something I regret.
Most people would say I look incredibly intimidating and unapproachable -- not because of my physical prowess (remember I am short and I have a small build) but because of my lack of facial expression. I am the guy with a straight face that rarely smiles, fairly independent but not a loner and is generally level-headed and practical. Cold. It all comes down to this - you will never spot me from a typical city crowd. In fact, you will rarely find me in a mass of people outside commutes. I am your average sub-urban kid who has no externally- identifiable features. I don't stand out. This is Vic.
So, who am I? The nice guy. My disposition
generally errs on the side of 'good' and I rarely
bend rules (let along break them). Although the
idea of being a resident "bad-ass" is enticing, it
is only a dream that exists outside the real world.
I am generally quiet and reserved on all fronts,
but if someone mingles with me long enough I will
have plenty to say and talk about like a babbling
old man. Informal ethics and morals have been a
significant part of my recent past as I strive to
put together the puzzles of life. However, I am
no philosopher. I believe living life itself is
the best way to find what you need to know.
Experience above all.
Most people would say I am weird. I agree, but probably not for the reasons I've heard. I don't exactly have a traditional sense of humour and I ooze of sarcasm in regular conversations. My imagination is also something that sometimes extend beyond proper bounds. Then again, maybe I'm just a typical geek or nerd! And we all known that archetype is... strange. It all comes down to how you perceive me. I can be a variety of characters consisting of very polar attributes. This near-schizoid approach to life has left me quite versatile and satisfied with how things have turned out, and how my future will seem. It's all about adaptability and being a jack-of-all-trades - striving to know it all and do it all. This is Vic.
So, who am I? You'll have to find out. ;)
