2004.12.27
Added a 2TP review of Splinter Cell. Trying to plow through my game queue right now.

2004.12.21
Added a small number of photos from the EA Canada Annual Christmas Party. The backlog is still coming! Also updated the games page a bit and added a "game queue" for anyone who may be remotely interested in what titles I have lined up for play.

2004.11.30
Added pictures of the Elfin Lakes Trail hike with my co-worker friends. Check "mvp2005-elfin" for the stuff.

2004.11.29
First set of Vancouver pictures are finally up. They're only about six months old hehe. Sorry for the wait (for the two people that wanted to see them). :)

2004.11.27
Okay, so I didn't spent that much time playing Doom 3. Work has been extremely busy. Anyhow, I've added a couple 2TP reviews and there are more on the way. I still have to get photos up too, haha!

2004.08.14
No time to update. DOOM 3!

2004.07.20
Busy with work and living but I'm enjoying it all. Graduated from university and I'm glad that's a closed chapter of my life. I also managed to squeeze in a 2TP of One Must Fall: Battlegrounds. I'm really, really backlogged on photos since I started work but they'll come through eventually.

2004.05.01
I'll make an exception to the usual index update and tell a bit about myself. I'm having a great time in my new home, doing things independently, wandering the city, etc. Starting my new job on Monday. It should be fun. :) Thanks to everyone -- family, friends, past co-workers, et al. -- who have helped me make it this far.

2004.03.21
Added a 2TP review of Beyond Good & Evil to the games page. An excellent game I would personally recommend to anyone wanting an interactive cinematic experience.

2004.03.08
Ugh, that took a while to process. Gradball 0T4 pictures are up. Need a new digital camera (or at least one where the white balance actually works properly). Enjoy!

2004.03.05
Added a gradball page that will be filled up in the coming days. An Iron Ring page is coming really soon too.
UPDATE: Iron Ring page and pictures are up! Enjoy!

2004.02.16
2TP review for Halo is up. Good game despite the general, "over-hyped" atmosphere. I hope Halo 2 shapes up to be much better.

2004.02.13
It's reading week! And my wisdom teeth are getting pulled out. Luckily, there will be a plentiful portion of games to keep me entertained. Much thanks to the release of the Unreal Tournament 2004 demo, which plays noticeably better than its predecessor despite "going Halo." :)

2004.02.06
Now that I'm back in the game (with the appropriate hardware, thanks to John :) ), I am now playing some newer stuff. Games page 'now playing' section is updated. I've also added links to Alex and Jeremy's Montreal photos on the appropriate page.

2004.01.30
Small update to games and links pages. Need some handy links at my fingertips!

2004.01.12
The main batch of photos for the Montreal 0T4 trip are now available from the Montreal0T4 link on the menu. Enjoy!

2003.12.08
I should be studying for finals, but... the Max Payne 2 2TP review is up. Box art is courtesy of Gamespy. :)

2003.12.07
Updated the 2TP reviews with game release dates and approximate review dates to give statements like "aging graphics engine" a relative context.

2003.12.05
Added a Montreal 0T4 section in preparation for the trip in four weeks. Hopefully the pictures will be less blurry this time around. :) Scanner seems broken so I'll have to go around "borrowing" box art images from the interweb for my 2TP reviews. :) Speaking of which, the Mercenaries 2TP review is finally up.

2003.11.01
If you didn't notice by now, there's a new section in the header. Borrowed the code from Vince's website. 2TP review of Max Payne 2 coming soon as well.

2003.10.12
Added a new main section entitled "code." This contains some of the programming projects that I have completed or are in progress. Most notable is probably the mention of my hobby 3D graphics "engine." I've also updated the deadlines page.

2003.09.12
Updated the skule course links (note that these are just my courses) and also some deadlines for assignments and such.

2003.09.06
Added another image to the artbook and updated my games list. A photobook section is likely to appear in the next couple of weeks to put miscellaneous but still memorable photos. The skule section will probably start seeing some activity again now that my final year is beginning.

2003.08.25
Chowdown2K3 was great fun, and a summary "after-action" report is available on its page (check left link).

2003.08.20
Added a preliminary Chowdown2K3 page. Check it out on the side.

2003.08.05
Online course registration needs to be staggered or deferred in some way to avoid 6am server congestion.

2003.07.31
Made some custom HTTP error pages. You'll stumble upon these user-friendly pages if you enter any incorrect URL for this website or do some other funny stuff (note: this is not an encouragement to mess around here ... nor was that statement. Or that one). :)

2003.07.29
Made some technical changes to the layout structure. Most of the pages now end with the extension ".shtml" so err, update your bookmarks if you've made any. Web technophiles will probably understand why.

2003.07.28
Drew another something (covert op) in the artbook section. Took the feedback I received from the soldier and applied it. Should be a noticeable improvement. Also updated a couple links and my "now playing" section for games.

2003.07.19
Happy birthday to my brother Philip and my friend Michelle. I decided to draw something (the soldier) for the first time in several months and it's available in the artbook section. I think it's a marked improvement over my previous illustrations but I still have some way to go.

2003.07.18
Updated some of the links. Was introduced to a new fun webcomic called "A Modest Destiny." Check it out if you're even remotely interested in computer/video game/paper and pen RPGs.

2003.07.16
I have been busy with some other stuff and learning some OpenGL. In due time there should be some decent demo programs posted here based on what I have learned. In the meantime, I have changed some of my gaming tastes and they are updated (along with a 2TP review of MechWarrior 4 Vengeance) in the games section.

2003.06.22
Went to the Toronto International Dragon Boat Festival today. Took some pics. Check them out on the side (listed as dbfestival2k3).

2003.06.15
Hope everyone is having a good "Father's Day." Updated the "Now Playing" section of my games page and added new URLs to the links page.

2003.06.11
On Thomas's suggestion, a visual reference to the IE6 frame rendering bug list in the techlog section is available. Check it out there.

2003.06.09
I've updated Big's Words with a picture of Big. You know, the dude that cooks words for breakfast? Goto the main Big Swords page and follow the link there.

2003.06.07
Added a new section: Tech Log. Essentially, this is a place where I will drop in some common technical problems I encounter when fixing up a PC. Might be of some useful reference.

2003.06.01
Updated games that I am now playing and added a 2TP review of Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory to the games section. Check it out (the game and the review :) ). After all, it's a free download!

2003.05.31
Went to the Yonge-Dundas Square opening last night and the pictures are up. Check them out! The links were also updated to reflect my current surfing habits.

2003.05.27
Added a 2TP review of the classic sleeper hit System Shock 2. Check it out in the games section (BTW, it's a great game!). I also adjusted the grades for SOF2 and UT2K3 - one up, one down.

2003.05.26
Fixed the DOCTYPE URI for all the pages. Apparently the CSS Validator is broken. I wonder how long it'll take for them to notice that it doesn't process external DTDs.

2003.05.18
Finally uploaded the February autoshow images. In other news, skule is finally over and I'm unemployed for the first summer in three years. Time to relax!

2003.04.19
Haven't updated in a while - very busy with school, and exams are kicking in. I've been meaning to put up the Autoshow picks by now (hah, by the time I get them up you can see all the cars on the road!) but it's been hard trying to come up with some sort of interesting/annoying remarks for all ninety-some- odd photos. Also in the process of ditching cable for DSL. My home's telco and cable connections are both broken. :(

2003.02.23
Reading Week is over, and I've accomplished little. Anyhow, I've added a 2TP review of C&C Generals to the games section. I also took a trip to the Canadian Autoshow recently with some friends and I have some photos of that. Lots of ugly cars, but also some nice ones around to balance the lot.

2003.02.15
It's been a tough couple of weeks in Skule. Reading Week has arrived and there's a bit of a breather. In the meantime, I've added a page about my work on Reaction in the games section. On the side, I've also included some "before" snapshots in the Ottawa section (pictures 85 and 87) where the orange dude was standing. Yay for Photoshop!

2003.01.29
Added my duck-killing, heart-pounding (maybe) "ShootOut!" Java game to the games section. Enjoy!

2003.01.25
I've added a 2TP review of No One Lives Forever 2 to the usual games section. It is an excellent single player and multiplayer co-op FPS.

2003.01.20
Brainchild of Thomas (I don't know why I did it), but there is a new "deadline" section in Skule. Check it out. Hope it's useful -- also, read the disclaimer.

2003.01.16
I've created a page for the dreaded ECE311S and I've posted the solutions for the first few problem sets from the previous year. How does this help you? The questions should be identical to this year's. I've also added a link to Thomas's Ottawa trip photos on the Ottawa0T4 page and several links to friends' pages in the Links section. Good luck in your studies!

2003.01.12
Back from the Ottawa trip! Thanks to Iulia and Cherie for planning out a good one. :) Check out the Ottawa0T4 section for some details and 90+ photos.

2003.01.03
Hope everyone had a good new year's. I've updated some of the skule page to reflect the upcoming winter term.

2002.12.31
Well, 2002 is nearly over... :) After almost ten months, I've finally added the Westwood "Mod College" event photos. Check those and the page along the side under wwmc.

2002.12.27
I've added a couple more 2TP reviews in the game sections as well as all respective box arts. Well, you might notice two are missing - my brother is asleep, and I don't want to venture into his room to grab a couple boxes at 3am in the morning. Maybe later.

Good afternoon. I've added the long-standing Chowdown2K2 pictures. As usual, I've even included the crappy pictures so you can see my awful camera work. The remaining two game box images have also been added to the games page.

2002.12.25
Merry Christmas. I've added a preliminary Ottawa trip page. Nothing much yet, but hopefully lots to come in a couple weeks.

2002.12.23
Whoa, I'm on a roll. Finally added the few pics from Chowdown2K2-2. I've also added a few URLs to the Links page. As always, more to come.

2002.12.22
I've added a few archived art pieces - the old Milliken 2000 yearbook cover, a group shot of a motley crew of game characters for a web comic that never really launched, a Reaction poster, and the blade render for Big Swords. Check them out in the artbook section.

2002.12.21
Yay, exams are over. Time to relax with tons of games and things to do. I've added some small 2TP game reviews I have been wanting to note for a while now. More to come later.

2002.12.02
Crap, it's already December and I've accomplished nothing! Anyways, I've modified the grotesque 1MB+ exam schedule and cut out all but relevant third-year Comp Eng. exams. Obviously only useful to a few people, but oh well - I usually do this every term for myself anyways. You can find it in the skule page.

2002.11.30
Well, now that I've bombed all my midterms and exams are coming I can finally catch up on stuff! Happy birthday to Aaron this past week who was a loser and was awake until 1am doing nothing on his birthday (somebody get that poor man a girlfriend!). :D Anyways, I've updated the artbook section a bit.

2002.10.25
It's been a very busy two weeks with midterms and assignments due all over the place. A couple of birthdays past by last week -- happy birthday to Jon and Kat (hallo!) and today is another not-so-anonymous person's birthday. Happy birthday, chump. ;) No major site updates.

2002.10.10
Added a new page about ecf to the skule subsection. Keep an eye out for it. Right now there's information about printing multiple pages per physical page in the Linux labs.

2002.10.04
Happy birthday to Glen from his friends, and especially from his lover, mate, and partner in "cRiminAl PracticE". ;D I've also added a "FAQ" section full of made-up questions regarding the site and maybe me. I've also added a write-up on using the 68k simulator for ECE341.

2002.09.27
Added an artbook section. Contains some of my weird drawings, renderings, etc. that I do on the side.

2002.09.25
Your mind transcends time. Live your life at all ages.

2002.09.21
I've added a section about ECE334F (Digital Electronics) under the skule section. Right now it just contains a bit of info on getting HSPICE to work from home.

2002.09.19
Added a section about ECE341F (Computer Organization) under the skule section. Contains little but handy information regarding base conversions and two's complement numbers.

2002.09.17
I've added 80+ photos to the roadtrip2k2 section. It was a great trip. Captions are also included. Check them out. In other news, I've moved the site over to my new online home at www.bigswords.com. So if for whatever reason you've bookmarked this page, update it. :) Also added a section about Big Swords.

2002.09.11
Skule has started. Trip was fun -- no guarantees on a write-up though -- but the pictures should be up sometime in the next... year? :) Heh, I need to get them all up. Also added a Skule section that will be filled up later.

2002.08.18
Added information about Roadtrip2K2 on the menu. I've also reorganized the menus a bit to better reflect their general topics.

2002.08.06
I've updated the Chowdown2K2-2 page to reflect the now-past LAN party. I had a great time and I'm sure everyone else did as well. Thanks for coming out and making it a success! Still haven't finished the write-up for the first one though - and I need to get those pictures up for both. Soon.

2002.07.28
Added information about Chowdown2K2-2 under the main games menu for those that are invited. I've also updated a few links to "reflect" where I've been going recently. That should clue you in on what I've been doing in the last few weeks.

2002.06.23
Welcome to my little space on the internet. I've taken a bit of time to redesign the site to be compact both in desktop real estate and bandwidth. Browse around -- time has passed, and even though I've been mostly the same person for the last ten years, things have changed.
